Dance competition has become a popular sport in which dancers perform dances in any of several permitted dance styles—such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, modern, and tap—in front of a group of judges.
Today, competitive dance mostly occurs with competition production companies that host regional competitions as part of a nationwide tour. At Miss Robin's Dance, our dancers that want to compete are invited to take competition classes. Those dancers can join us at regional competitions with students ranging in age from approximately four to eighteen years of age.
Our competition dance classes prepare our students to compete with solos, duets, trios, or in a small group dance in addition to or in place of large group routines.
Competitions typically begin in January and end in July or August.
